Onyx Odds Promotions and Bonuses
I was a little bit disappointed at the general lack of promotions at Onyx Odds, especially when I compared the platform to some of its main competitors like Sportzino and Fliff. The sign-up offer only supplied me a modest amount of non-redeemable Onyx Coins, while the opportunities to stack up free Onyx Cash are few and far between. Here are the details.
How I Claimed the Onyx Odds No Deposit Bonus
Signing up with Onyx Odds landed me 1,000 Onyx Coins — no purchase necessary. Bear in mind that Onyx Coins are the sportsbook’s non-redeemable currency. The redeemable Onyx Cash is not part of the Onyx Odds no deposit bonus.
Here are the steps I took to claim the offer:
- The sportsbook is mobile-only, so I visited the Onyx Odds website on my Android smartphone.
- Once I landed on the site, I hit the Sign Up button, typed in my email address, and created a password.
- My account was set up momentarily, with 1,000 Onyx Coins immediately showing up in my balance.
- Although KYC was not required at this point, I had to verify my details before placing any picks.
Onyx Odds Bonus Code
There wasn’t a specific Onyx Odds bonus code that I had to use to claim my sign-up bonus. Even though the promo code box is provided during registration, you’re not required to fill it out at this moment, and you will receive your 1,000 Onyx Coins even if you leave it empty.
How Does the Sign Up Bonus Compare to Other Sweeps Sportsbooks?
The Onyx Odds sign up offer is not as great as other no-deposit bonuses I found on major sweepstakes sportsbooks. To begin with, I only received Onyx Coins, which are non-redeemable, and no Onyx Cash.
For comparison, the Fliff sportsbook also offers 1,000 of its non-redeemable Fliff Coins to new users but adds in 1 Fliff Cash. Meanwhile, Sportzino gives out 220,000 Gold Coins and 10 free Sweeps Coins upon creating an account. Similar offers can be found on Thrillz, Rebet, and SportsMillions.
I expect Onyx Odds to add some Onyx Cash to its sign-up bonus, as it currently lags behind its main competitors in this aspect.
Other Onyx Odds Promotions In April 2025
Here are all the current Onyx Odds promotions for regular customers that I spotted while reviewing the platform.
First-Purchase Bonus: Spend $10 Get 25 Onyx Cash
Purchases are optional at Onyx Odds, but if you decide to complete a first purchase of $10, you will get 25 free Onyx Cash as a bonus. This is an excellent opportunity to boost your Onyx Cash balance, as there are not many ways to acquire extra Onyx Cash for free.
Referral Bonus
If you refer a friend using an invitation link, they will get an extra 15 Onyx Cash upon completing their first purchase. Strangely enough, you won’t receive a reward yourself, so this offer benefits only the person you decide to invite.
Mail-In Bonus
The mail-in bonus is currently the only Onyx Odds bonus that grants you Onyx Cash without requiring you to make a purchase. This bonus is also known as an Alternative Method of Entry (AMOE) and is available on almost all sweepstakes platforms based in the US.
To receive it, you must mail an envelope to a specified address with the details found on the website’s Sweepstakes Rules page. Once the operator receives your envelope, you will be credited with 5 Onyx Coins. You can send up to 100 requests, but only one per envelope.
30% Profit Boost
The first promotion I saw in the promotional banners on the Onyx Odds homepage was the 30% parlay boost. While this promo won’t give you any Onyx Coins or free Onyx Cash, it will increase your potential winnings by up to 30% when you make any parlay with a minimum of three selections.
Other boosts may come periodically; the sportsbook will inform you via a promotional email. For example, when I reviewed the website, March Madness was in full swing, and Onyx Odds had a special 50% parlay boost that lasted all tourney long.
My Experience Opening an Account at Onyx Odds
I honestly never had an easier time opening an account on a sweepstakes platform than with Onyx Odds:
- Visiting the mobile site: First, I tried to open the Onyx Odds website on my laptop. The site works, but once I attempted to create an account, I got the following message: “This site is only available on mobile browsers.” I grabbed my Android smartphone to register from the mobile browser, and the registration form popped up.
- Registration: To sign up, I needed to provide an active email address and come up with a strong password. There’s also a field where you can type in a promo code, but I didn’t need one to claim the sign-up bonus. I created my account in less than a minute.
- Account activation: I didn’t need to do anything to activate the account. Some platforms will prompt you to click on the activation link or type in an SMS code, but there’s none of that at Onyx Odds. However, you do need to verify your details if you wish to make picks, purchase coins, or claim rewards.
What I Liked and Disliked About Onyx Odds
Onyx Odds lags behind its major competitors and has a lot of room for improvement. However, it’s not all that bad. Here’s a concise list of pros and cons that can give you a clearer picture of what’s good and not so good about this sweepstakes sportsbook.

My Thoughts on the Sports Selection at Onyx Odds
Onyx Odds Sports Details
Available sports | Football, basketball, baseball, ice hockey, college sports, tennis, soccer, MMA |
Popular markets | Moneyline, spreads, totals, first/second half predictions, player props |
Onyx Odds offers free predictions on a handful of popular sports. When I reviewed the website, there were no football markets on offer, but only because it was the middle of the offseason. Otherwise, you can find NFL and college football.
As for other sports, there’s NBA and NCAA basketball, MLB, NHL, major male and female tennis tournaments, the Big 5 European soccer leagues as well as MLS and Liga MX, and UFC.
I’m used to seeing smaller sports selections on sweepstakes sportsbooks compared to real-money ones, but I still feel Onyx Odds could expand its offerings. For example, there are no niche sports like volleyball, table tennis, and golf, some of which can be found on platforms like Sportzino and Fliff.
The market depth barely extends beyond the basic prediction options (moneyline, spreads, and totals), but I did find some interesting props. For instance, NBA games are full of player props like points, assists, and rebounds, while you can also predict whether a player will rack up a triple-double.
You can make live predictions, and there’s also an option to create same-game parlays. Unfortunately, I found no outright/futures markets.
Onyx Odds Payment and Redemption Experience
Onyx Odds is a free-to-play sweepstakes sportsbook, so purchases are entirely optional. However, considering there aren’t many ways to fill up your balance for free, you may be tempted to make a purchase.
Before you buy your first batch of Onyx Coins, here are some details to consider.
Onyx Odds Payment Details
Payment methods | Debit/credit card, Trustly, MuchBetter, PayPal, ACH |
Redemption methods | Debit card and ACH |
Minimum purchase | $10 |
Minimum prize redemption | 20 Onyx Cash (equals $20) |
Prize redemption time | Several business days |
Onyx Odds accepts a solid range of payment options. Aside from the standard credit and debit cards, you can purchase coins using Trustly, ACH, PayPal, and MuchBetter, while redemptions can be made using a debit card or a bank transfer.
Coin packages range from $10 to $500, which is a bit steep as most sweepstakes have the cheapest package priced at less than $2. In contrast, the minimum redemption limit is only $20, which is lower than the usual $50 or $100 I saw on other major platforms. You can only redeem cash prizes; gift card redemptions are unavailable. The playthrough requirements are 1x.
I had no issues completing the first purchase using my Visa debit card. Sadly, I didn’t win enough Onyx Cash to request a prize redemption, but according to reports I found online, other players have had no major issues with the redemption process.
Onyx Odds Payment Methods Comparison
Here is how Onyx Odds compares to other sweepstakes platforms in terms of payment options.

Overall User Experience — Is Onyx Odds Fun to Play at?
I have no complaints regarding the user experience at Onyx Odds, except that the website is only available on mobile browsers. On one hand, it’s not uncommon for sweepstakes sportsbooks to be mobile-exclusive. After all, Fliff Sportsbook, one of the biggest brands in this vertical, is only available on mobile, too. However, Fliff also offers an app, while Onyx Odds still hasn’t developed one.
Aside from that, I liked how the website looked and had an easy time browsing it. Everything from registration to claiming bonuses, making purchases, and laying down sports predictions is intuitive and beginner-friendly. You can reach any site section within a few taps, and I experienced no lag or loading issues.
I also enjoyed the color palette and that the secondary color changes based on your currency. The odds and highlighted buttons are purple when you play with Onyx Coins, turning green when you switch to Onyx Cash. This visual cue will never have you wondering what currency you’re using, so making mistakes is less likely.
Is the Customer Support Any Good?
Customer support at Onyx Odds could use some improvements. To begin with, tapping the Contact Us button on the Account page did nothing, and I found no live chat option.
I dug up an email ([email protected]) and learned that this is the only way to contact Onyx Odds support at the moment. I received a response in a couple of hours, which is the typical email support response time.
Still, I was disappointed that there were no options to contact customer service instantly. Pair this with no help and FAQ pages, and players who experience issues or have questions regarding technicalities will be left hanging.
Is Onyx Odds Trustworthy?
Based on my research of Onyx Odds, I can confidently say that this sweepstakes sportsbook is legit and trustworthy. Here’s what I found out about it.
Who Owns Onyx Odds?
Onyx Odds is owned and operated by Onyx Games LLC. I couldn’t find much about the company other than that it is based in New York and was incorporated in August 2024. Onyx Games doesn’t operate any other sportsbooks or casinos.
What Do the Reviews Say?
Onyx Odds is a relatively new platform, so it hasn’t had time to establish a reputation among users. Player reviews are few and far between, with no official Trustpilot profile and only a handful of Reddit posts with little to no replies.
A few Reddit comments state that Onyx Odds has better odds than some competitors, while another user shared their disappointment about no Onyx Cash at sign-up. Other than that, I didn’t find any notable threads.
Are There Any Responsible Gaming Resources?
Onyx Odds has a responsible gaming policy and provides tools such as purchase, wager, and loss limits, as well as an option to self-exclude for a given period or terminate your account altogether. There are also self-assessment questionnaires you can check and links to support organizations, specifically Computer Gaming Addicts Anonymous (CGAA).
What’s the Difference Between Onyx Odds and a Real-Money Sportsbook?
A real-money sportsbook offers direct cash deposits and withdrawals. You wager real money and can withdraw your winnings at any time.
Meanwhile, a sweepstakes sportsbook like Onyx Odds operates on a dual-currency system, with only one of the currencies (Onyx Cash) being available for cash prize redemptions. The other currency (Onyx Coins) carries no monetary value and is designed for fun play only.
You can purchase Onyx Coins and receive Onyx Cash as a free bonus, while both currencies can be obtained through various free promotions. The Onyx Cash you receive can only be redeemed for prizes once it has been played through and once you’ve reached the minimum redemption limit of 20 Onyx Cash, which equals $20.
This system enables Onyx Odds to function beyond the legal restrictions of real-money sportsbooks, allowing players in states where real-money betting is prohibited to participate.

Would I Recommend Onyx Odds?
While Onyx Odds is a respectable option among sweepstakes sportsbooks, it doesn’t exactly raise the bar. The solid odds, great UX, and low minimum redemption limits are all commendable, but significant improvements are needed before Onyx Odds can be considered among the best options.
To begin with, I would like to see a sign-up offer that gives out some free Onyx Cash. More sports and markets would be nice, and the minimum purchase could also be lowered. Adding a mobile app would improve the overall experience further, while a 24/7 live chat would surely have a positive impact on player satisfaction.
I am confident that Onyx Odds will increase in quality over time. It’s still a relatively new platform, and improvements are to be expected.
